One of our current projects is in Campo Papa located in Mendoza, Argentina. This area suffers from extreme poverty and the children here are often exposed to an atmosphere of violence, hunger and a disintegrating family structure.
Polideportivo is a youth center where kids are given a chance to get away from this atmosphere. The youth center provides food, teaches kids how to play sports such as tennis, soccer and basketball, and leads them in other cultural and educational activities. The goal behind this project is to keep kids off the streets and give them hope for a better life.
The Argentinian government has donated several acres of land to the Polideportivo project. One tennis court has already been built and we are currently collecting donations to build two others. We will use these courts to teach the kids of Mendoza to play tennis!
